President: Tair Karanfili

Hello, my name is Tair Karanfili, you can also call me Ty. I am a Cybersecurity student here at OCC. I began taking classes at OCC as a junior in high school in the Oakland Technical Early College program in conjunction with attending the Cybersecurity And Networking program at Oakland Schools Technical Campus.

Outside of school I am additionally pursuing CompTIA and Cisco certifications to pursue my interest in Cybersecurity

​

​Some of my hobbies include Clay shooting, hanging out with the boys, and playing video games

Vice President: Lorenzo Fava

Hello, my name is Lorenzo Fava, just like Tair I am a cybersecurity student attending OCC through the Oakland Technical Early College program

​

 I am currently working as a part time Cybersecurity analyst with experience with advanced SIEM and SOAR platforms such as  Elastic Kibana, CrowdStrike, and Microsoft Azure/defender.

​

My hobbies include: Playing video games, working out, and hanging out with my family

Secretary: Ted Ross

Hello, my name is Teddy Ross. I am a Cybersecurity student here at OCC, where I am also the secretary of the IT Club. I am also attending OCC through the Oakland Technical Early College program

I have a huge interest in Pen Testing, and outside of the school I love to workout and and hangout with my friends.

CIS Program Director, Hany Othman, PhD, is committed to staying at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies and security trends to tackle real-world challenges. His expertise is in the exciting domain of Cybersecurity and the Internet of Things (IoT). 

An alumnus of OCC, his impressive qualifications include:

  • 15 years in higher education, developing an extensive range of courses at the undergraduate, master’s and Doctorate levels

  • Academic contributions in the fields of Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems and Cybersecurity programs

  • Experience working with small to enterprise-level organizations, delivering innovative solutions that push the boundaries of technological advancement

Othman is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, highlighting his ability to apply his knowledge practically and effectively in complex IT environments, and to share this expertise with his students.
